20. Peter Pan’s Flight

Let’s just say it right now: Peter Pan’s Flight is outdated, has seen better days, and the consistently massive wait time is baffling. This is not even a ride we normally think about when walking through the park. Skip it and save your valuable touring time for headliners.

19. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin

It is just another Dumbo style spinner located right in the middle of a major walkway in Adventureland. This is a clear skip unless you have very little ones who insist on riding every single aerial carousel in the park.

18. Astro Orbiter

They took a basic spinning ride and placed it high up on an elevator. If you were not looking for it, you would probably just think it was part of the Tomorrowland skyline decor. We rode it once, and that was enough for us.

17. Mad Tea Party

It is an absolute classic, sure, but it is nothing special. You can find this exact ride experience at almost any traveling fair across the country. The waits are not usually terrible, but it is never a priority on our park itinerary.

16. Prince Charming Regal Carrousel

Your typical theme park carousel perfectly positioned right behind Cinderella Castle. It is a great filler attraction for kids, but there is absolutely nothing groundbreaking happening here.

15. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

The updated queue is honestly better than the ride itself. It is not much different from its predecessor, and unless you are a die-hard fan, absolutely love log rides, or desperately need to cool off on a hot day, you are not missing much.

14. Space Mountain

This coaster is desperate for a complete refurbishment, or better yet, a full rebuild. It is incredibly outdated, physically rough, entirely in the dark, and notoriously tough to get in and out of. It is a cool ride historically, but your back might disagree later in the day.

13. Jungle Cruise

The experience here is entirely dependent on the comedic timing of your skipper. While the holiday overlay is pretty good, the standard wait time is usually far too long for the payoff. More often than not, this becomes a skip for us during a busy day.

Even though it is my wife April’s absolute favorite ride, we usually have to pass on this one. This used to be a reliable walk-on, but nowadays, if the wait is 30 minutes or more, it is just not worth the time investment.

11. The Barnstormer

This is a perfectly executed starter coaster in Storybook Circus. It is a kids ride that adults can still genuinely enjoy, making it a solid Fantasyland staple for families getting their kids used to thrill rides.

10. TRON Lightcycle / Run

The massive illuminated structure looks amazing, the queue is great, and the overall ride concept is executed flawlessly. However, spending barely 60 seconds on a coaster after a massive wait leaves you feeling let down. If you can afford the Lightning Lane Single Pass, definitely do it once for the launch experience.

9. Dumbo the Flying Elephant

This remains the absolute gold standard of theme park spinners. The dual tracks keep the line moving efficiently, but the real MVP here is the indoor, air-conditioned playground built right into the queue. The kids love the play area, and the adults absolutely love sitting in the AC.

8. “it’s a small world”

We recommend this boat ride strictly on its status as a historic Disney classic. The wait times are usually very short, and it is a fantastic place to sit down and cool off for a bit. It is a “one and done” for the day, but it does its job extremely well.

7. Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid

This is an absolute must-do for fans of the movie. The incredible rockwork theming starts the second you enter the queue and carries beautifully through the entire attraction. Plus, the Omnimover ride system means the line is constantly moving.

6. Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover

It is exactly what it promises to be: a literal people mover that gets massive amounts of guests off their tired feet for a relaxing tour above Tomorrowland. Keep in mind that while we are on the topic, nothing in Tomorrowland really seems futuristic by today’s standards.

5. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

The recent refurbishment has refreshed the attraction and increased the toughness of the physical targets, making this a genuinely fun competition with your ride mate. Pro tip: look up the secret high-value spots online beforehand to easily max out your score.

4. Pirates of the Caribbean

This is a true Magic Kingdom must-do. It is a relaxing boat ride with just one small drop and a ton of details to look at. Because it loads an incredible 3,000 riders per hour, the wait is normally completely manageable, making it an easy 20-minute investment for a great payoff.

3. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

This is actually a genuinely great family coaster, featuring incredibly smooth track elements and beautifully themed show scenes. However, the standby line is always outrageously long all day. Because of that wait time reality, we highly recommend trying to hit it during a parade or right at rope drop.

2. Haunted Mansion

The Haunted Mansion is a timeless masterpiece that has somehow only grown in popularity over the decades. The continuous loading Doom Buggies chew through lines very quickly. We have ridden it countless times, and we would gladly wait up to 30 minutes to do it all over again.

1. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

The wildest ride in the wilderness easily takes our number one spot. It is a family coaster, so it is nothing too crazy, but it delivers an excellent experience every single time. The outdoor theming is fantastic, and the thrill level is completely perfect for almost everyone in your group.

Try to catch it when the posted wait is under 30 minutes, or strategize by hitting it at rope drop, during a parade, or while the fireworks are going off overhead.
